In a healthy spine, the bones are aligned and joints have a healthy range of motion. Discs, ligaments, cartilage, and other tissues surrounding the spinal bones depend on movement of the spine to pump blood into the area, supplying nutrients and oxygen. Without adequate blood flow, damage to discs and surrounding tissues can occur. Proper alignment of spinal bones increases blood flow to these tissues, allowing them to heal naturally.
Range of motion can be compromised by muscle spasms, irritation of spinal nerves, trauma, degenerative joint disease, inflammation, and numerous other factors. During a chiropractic adjustment, motion is introduced to the spinal bones promoting normal nerve supply, reducing inflammation, and restoring range of motion.
A well-aligned spine and healthy nervous system support function of multiple body systems, allowing your health to flourish and enabling you to achieve a more active lifestyle.
You don’t have to be in pain to benefit from Chiropractic. The nervous system has a hand in the regulation of every body system: the immune system, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, etc. Optimum health depends on a well-functioning nervous system. Chiropractic care supports normal function by correcting interferences to the nervous system, naturally enabling your body to heal and thrive.
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.”
